ReVision - the Art of Recycling

Revision (2007) and it's organizers wish to thank the many gallery attendees who came to enjoy the show and support the artists. Revision was formed, in part, to support the Canada-wide Waste Reduction Week, and also in support and celebration of the numerous talented artists who work with recycled goods. The exhibition featured over 40 works of art created from non-traditional art materials, and as in the Folk Art tradition, our sixteen artists presented work unaffected by stylistic trends of academic art, often displaying an innocence, originality of concept, creativity of design, inspiration, or craftsmanship in a specific medium.

We wish to thank the Granville Island Hotel’s staff, and room bookings coordinator Jill Butterworth-Penner for the venue. They were tremendously helpful and welcoming. Thanks also to ClearFM 104.9, Elim Lee (Fairchild Television), Georgia Straight, Opus Framing, and the many others that provided information to the public to promote the show. Thanks to Leanne Bishop from RubyDog’s Art House for setting up her display of altered books, and our sponsors HotStart Enterprises, Softrak Systems, and TERA Planning for donating funds for displays and promotional materials. Lastly, we wish to thank the participating artists for sharing their vision with us. The show was a huge success. Thank you.
