About Us

Ever wonder what happened to that old trombone discarded long ago, or your mother's stash of buttons or bottle caps, or that ratty old suitcase that hasn't traveled in over 30 years? "Revision - the art of recycling" is a two day juried show featuring recycled artwork: art made from anything reused, recycled, salvaged, scrounged or found - be it useful, beautiful, odd, playful, or thought provoking.

Revision - the Art of Recycling produced its first show in October 2007 to celebrate the Canada-wide Waste Reduction Week, and to provide a showcase for British Columbia artists using recycled materials as a major component in their work. We are dedicated to advancing public awareness in issues of sustainability by featuring art of high quality by artists who embrace recycling in their creative process. We are returning to our venue at the Granville Island Hotel, 1253 Johnston Street, Vancouver, B.C. Many of our participating artists will be in attendance throughout the show, and would be happy to talk to you about their creations. We are also very pleased to announce that on Saturday our special guest SWARM, a Canadian-based percussion band with their unique collection of instruments made from recycled materials, will be joining us for several live performances. On Sunday RubyDog's Art House will have you snipping and pasting with their hands-on introduction to the fabulous art of altered books.

We hope you will come by and enjoy the show!
